Puzzilla Research Log

Challenge: Puzzilla users find so much information that it becomes difficult to keep track of where they are with each person. Solution: Puzzilla to the rescue! Announcing the new Puzzilla Log, now in initial development and testing. For those of us who are short on short-term memory or long between work sessions, relax and focus on one thing at a time. Let Puzzilla keep track of the rest.

The Notes and Next fields are for recording anything you wish. Notes is a place to remember important details. Next is a place to jot down what you need to do next.

The five status indicators 1 2 3 4 5 let you mark and show in your Puzzilla tree the 'status flags' of a person you are tracking, according to your personal process. We had a hard time defining the status indicators everyone would need, so we decided not to: You decide what each status indicator means. The status is revealed in a tree by clicking the Status button in the tree control panel, which shows colored triangle flags that are turned on for each person. As a suggestion, you could use status 1 for persons you have started working on, and status 5 for those who are finished. It's rewarding to see the colorful tree when you have 'finished' a prescribed set of activities for each person in your tree. Status points 2, 3 and 4 provide additional status categories you may want to track, such as 'pending correspondence', 'assigned to family member', or 'hereditary condition'--anything you can imagine. Use all five any way you like. You can assign and unassign these status flags in workflow sequence by clicking one off and the next one on as you progress through the steps of your process. Or multiple flags may be turned on in any combination, indicating the present situation for that person.

The LDS ordinance indicators allow LDS members to track the progress and completion of temple work for that person. This is especially helpful if you have shared temple cards with others. Click the 'Refresh Ordinances' button to update with the latest information from the temples.

The Id, Name, and Lifespan fields provide identification from the person's FamilyTree record. You can edit that information using FamilyTree. Changes will be updated when you click 'Refresh All Data' on any tree chart.
